“Curried paneer. Duck. Grilled Octopus. Corazon. These are just some of the fixings that make up the gourmet taco menu at Taco Asylum in Costa Mesa, the newest addition to The Camp’s list of restaurants in residence. It’s the brainchild of Greg Daniels, Wil Dee and Ace Patel, the creative minds who founded the popular Haven Gastropub in Orange in 2009.

“Daniels, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef, was inspired by the flavors of traditional dishes from around the globe and created innovative selections like grilled octopus stuffed in a flour tortilla with kalamata olives, oregano, feta and tomatoes; curried paneer in a naan tortilla with carrots, daikon, onions and cilantro; duck in a flour tortilla with Camembert and Dijon crème fraîche; and confit beef heart in a flour tortilla with pickled turnips and peppers, and harissa.”
